A meeting of the Hayton and Mealo Parish Council was held in the Prospect Village Hall, Prospect, Aspatria on Wednesday 13th March 2019 at 7.30pm.
PRESENT: Messrs., D. Hillary, R. Murray, F. Buchanan, E. Murdock and Y. Lockwood.

18/2019 DECLARATIONS OF INTERESTS
On the proposal of E. Murdock and seconded by F. Buchanan it was RESOLVED that the minutes of the meeting held on 9th January 2019 be approved and signed as a correct record.
20/2019 POLICE MATTERS
PCSO Peter Crome had submitted a report which showed that there had been one incident in the parish since the last meeting to which the police had not been called as it was not suspicious.
21/2019 PUBLIC PARTICIPATION
There were no members of the public present, but the chair raised one matter on their behalf: -
i) He had been approached by a group who were concerned about the condition of the bus shelter and they wanted to clean it and paint it. It was agreed to allow this to happen with the council re-

23/2019 CLERKS REPORT
The clerk gave a report on matters that had arisen since the last meeting which included: -
i) Papers had been received from Land Registry regarding rectifying the title for Main Cottage, Hayton which he had been dealt with as agreed at the last meeting.
ii) He had received a quote for grass cutting for the forthcoming season which was £130.00 per visit which was a slight increase on last year but was agreed.
iii) He had been contacted by the Information Commissioners Office (ICO) requesting the renewal of registration as a Data Controller which has now been completed.
vi) He had now received a letter ‘gifting’ the land used as the car park for the former Village Hall to the council and will now instruct solicitors to register the remainder of the Village Green (including the above) in the council’s name.

28/2019 LAND TO THE FRONT OF 1 HIGH GREEN, HAYTON
There had been no further contact with the occupants who were not resident following a recent fire, but he was still working to try and resolve this issue.
29/2019 PARISH COUNCIL ELLECTIONS 2019
The clerk distributed election packs and advised on the completion of the relevant forms.
30.2019 DONATION TOWARDS CHURCHYARD MAINTENANCE – ST JAMES CHURCH
Members consider the annual maintenance costs of the churchyard and agreed to donate £400.00 towards those costs.
