A meeting of the Hayton and Mealo Parish Council was held in the Prospect Village Hall, Prospect, Aspatria on Wednesday 12th July 2017 at 7.30pm.

47/2017 DECLARATIONS OF INTERESTS
On the proposal of Y. Lockwood and seconded by S.G. Hitchen it was RESOLVED that the minutes of the meeting held on 10th May 2017 be approved and signed as a correct record.
49/2017 POLICE MATTERS
PCSO Crome had tendered his apologies as he was not on duty but had provided a report on how to obtain crime figures for the parish. Unfortunately, the website is out of date and contains vague information.
50/2017 PUBLIC PARTICIPATION
Three points were raised on behalf of residents: -
Land to the front of Prospect House requires cutting. The contractor will arrange.
Street lights at Gallowbarrow and Hayton have been removed and not replaced. The clerk to investigate
The pavement in the village outside of the Church and Beech House which had recently been re-
The May and June CALC Circulars had been forwarded to councillors and there were no matters arising.
The Connecting Cumbria Newsletter had been circulated in which it claimed that 92% of properties across Cumbria can now access a fibre broadband service.
A Press Release highlighting the West, North and East Cumbria Success Regime programme was coming to an end.
A CALC Members Survey with a closing date before the meeting had been received and completed by the clerk.
52/2017 CLERKS REPORT
The clerk gave a report on matters that had arisen since the last meeting including: -
He had come across a map of Hayton with the names of properties. It was agreed that a laminated copy should be placed in the noticeboard.

56/2017 LAND TO THE FRONT OF 1 HIGH GREEN, HAYTON
The clerk informed the meeting that he had again written to the occupier regarding the excavations at the front of the property on the village green requesting re-
The chair reported he had had a site visit and discussed the proposal with the contractor who was advised of the council’s requirements but to date had not carried out any works.
58/2017 DISUSED TELEPHONE BOX
The clerk mentioned the condition of the above and possible solutions. It was agreed he should make enquires regarding housing a defibrillator in the box.

60/2017 HOUSEHOLD EMERGENCY PLAN
The clerk produced copies of the Household Emergency Plan printed by ACT. It was agreed to acquire 100 copies for distribution to properties in the parish.
61/2017 ELECTORAL REVIEW OF ALLERDALE
The final recommendations of the Boundary Commission had been received and there had been no change effecting the parish from the those in the consultation document.
62/2017 CONDITION OF HAYTON TO PROSPECT ROAD
Members again raised concerns regarding the condition of the carriageway and asked the clerk to report the matter to the Highways Authority.
